Baby Phillips Rumble Shower

This past Sunday was our baby shower! My best friend,  Aunt and Zoe from Max Media Lab completely spoiled us and our soon to arrive baby boy!  Everything was absolute perfection, the attention to detail and thought that had gone into everything was amazing, it felt surreal! Going through the pregnancy journey, I dreamed about a baby shower. I never knew if I would have one so it was definitely a day filled with overwhelming joy and contentment.

Held at Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel, on one of the most perfect surreal summer days in the middle of winter. Blue skies and blue and white umbrellas framed the extravagant set up the lay to the side and centre of the room. On one table lay meats, cheeses, breads and fruit. While the centre table was covered with every sweet treat imaginable, from blue cake pops, blue macaroons, to doungnut ice cream cones! White and blue balloons hung from the ceilings and framed the main table like a picture. Large, elaborate, incredible arrangements of flowers in blues, whites and pinks filled the room while baby clothes and some of my first toys from when I was a child hung, like a clothes line effect behind the bar.
If you think all that’s amazing, I’m only just getting started! For lunch guests were treated to a large vegetarian Paella that was cooked from scratch in the corner of the room! The rooms ambience only enhanced by a live acoustic set. Dane and I wanted to ditch the traditional “female only” concept when it came to baby showers. Instead using this occasion to gather closet friends and family ( My family all flew in from NZ )  and all enjoy a day of celebration. So many of our friends have kids, so kids were invited and in their element ( a sugar high element)! A kids table was set up, with coloured pens and animal colouring books.

Champagne and beer flowed and for those who didn’t drink ( Me ) Cali press juices were available in all flavours. I don’t think we stopped smiling, laughing and eating the entire day. There is something just so special about having your nearest and dearest around you, supporting and celebrating. This little man, is so blessed and loved he has no idea just how lucky he is.
Just when the sun started setting and the final ing played, Guests took home gift box doughnuts from my favourite doughnut place “ Dougnut Time”. A fairytale day!

Just a few of the 50 guests invited on the day.
