Ellery Show – MBFWA
Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia (MBFWA) 2015 is here! Being back at Fashion week HQ – Carriage works, gives you an instant feeling of excitement as the hub is lit up with fashionesta’s, bloggers, celebrities and international buyers. It feels like only yesterday we were all down here viewing and supporting the ss15 collections from our talented Aussie designers. Time surely does fly by.
Ellery was chosen to open MBFWA this year. Ellery has achieved cult local status and international success since its launch in 2007 by Perth-born designer, Kym Ellery. As the lights dimmed, Ballerinas from the Australian Ballet floated down the catwalk giving it an artistic soft opening. Then the beat kicked in and Gemma Ward hit the runway opening the Ellery PRE FALL 15 Collection. The collection featured, Bell sleeves, flared pants, Tailored jackets, oversized coats, Metallics and ankle skimming skirts. Strong silhouettes, daring combinations of textures and unique hardware detailing create Ellery’s distinctly modern feel. The designer’s muse is individualistic and decidedly feminine.
Not only did we see famous faces such as Gemma Ward, Emma Belfour and Ruby-Jean Wilson walking in the show. But the front row was filled with the who’s who of the Australia fashion industry and out finest Aussie celebrities.
Tip from the show: “Safe to say it’s all about the flare!!!”
No one was left unsatisfied, with the Ellery show delivering an incredible and jaw dropping collection. Needless to say a spectacular way to kick start MBFWA 2015.
