Emirates Melbourne Cup Day 2016

And we are back.. Emirates Melbourne Cup Day. A day that’s all about colour and fun. It’s a chance to really show your fashion flare and individual style whilst incorporating current trends and obviously your own touch when it comes to hats and millinery. This year we were excited to announce the new home of  Myer Fashions on the Field amongst the action of the “The Park”. The Park at Flemington, was a place to Eat, Drink, Play, Dress up and Dance throughout the day. The Park is the newest addition to the Flemington playground. Located on the hill, adjacent to the train station, it’s fun, exciting, unexpected, carefree, fashionable and a little bit fabulous. Best of all, entry to The Park is free for all Melbourne Cup Carnival ticket holders. So it was the place to be, filled with sounds of laughter, vibrant ascetics and full of fashionable fillies all competing for the massive price pool available on Fashions on the field.

Emirates Melbourne Cup Day is all about colour and excitement, and of course the running of the big race! It’s a huge day for fashions on the field with competitions for Women’s Racewear and the invitation-only Design Award. I also was fortunate to chat with Alex Perry and Elsa Pataky ( Chris Hemsworth’s wife ).

A huge thank you to Asilio for custom making me my Melbourne Cup dress. We added a shoulder detail to the already popular strapless style that’s available now. Headpiece by my friend Viktoria Novak that featured a mix colour of jewels on a burgundy headband which match my Aquazzura burgundy heels.

Hair and Makeup was done by Michael Brown and due to my exciting pair up with L’Oreal over Melbourne Cup Carnival as their Oaks Day influencer, we only used L’Oreal products.

Thanks to Lucas Dawson Photography and The Trend Spotter for the images.
